Updates...

This past week marked 23 months on the wait list.  It's hard to believe that in March, we will have been waiting for two years.  We would have never imagined the process to pan out the way it has, but we continue to be grateful...incredibly grateful...for the journey.  Our agency is predicting between 24 and 25 months for a referral, so it feels like we are almost there.  We are praying that God would swing the doors wide open and connect us with our forever family.  We have been told that they have seen very little sibling groups under the age of 4 (which is our first preference), but we are holding out, believing that is what God has called us to.  We are waiting and expecting him to do amazing things.  We are trusting him with everything.  We are believing that he has the perfect plan and when it unfolds, it will blow us away!

My mom was here this past week baking cupcakes once again.  Let me just say, she is one amazing mom!  It's hard to believe that this was our third time baking cupcakes together and I have to say we are a pretty awesome team.  Mom bakes and frosts.  I wash dishes, top the cupcakes, and run up and down the stairs getting the latest batch that we need.  It's unbelievable, but we have done over 4000 cupcakes over the last three fundraisers.  And...they aren't just any cupcakes.  They are gourmet and they are amazing.  She is a true genius when it comes to those cupcakes and I swear she puts "Grammy Love" into every one.  It's been her part of this amazing journey...along with a lot of prayer...and we are truly grateful.

This past week we deposited our checks into our "adoption savings," and discovered we have raised over $23,000 in cupcake sales, an Ethiopian dinner, bracelet and t-shirt sales, Oreo sales, yard sales, our high tea fundraiser, and just through unbelievably kind hearted people who have supported us.  It is amazing!  We are estimating the cost to be between 40,000-50,000 by the end and have already paid a small chunk.  God has been unbelievably good and our friends and family have blown us away by their graciousness.

To all of  you that pray, support us, and gain a little extra belly by eating our cupcakes...we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  Thanks for continuing to remember us on our journey.  You have blessed us in incredible ways.
